San Pedro Sula is Located in the north of Honduras. This is the industrial capital of Honduras, and has always played an important role in Honduran history. The city was founded in 1536 by Spanish Conqueror Don Pedro de Alvarado himself. Part of its name “Sula” derives from the local dialect Usula, meaning "valley of birds". Getting Around
Traveling to San Pedro Sula is not difficult at all. Connections to San Pedro Sula are available from other parts of Central America like San Jose, Costa Rica; San Salvador, El Salvador and Guatemala City, Guatemala. There are three bus lines that offer first class non stop executive service to San Pedro Sula: Saenz, Empresa Hedman Alas, and Viana Clase Oro.
Once you are in San Pedro Sula, getting around the city is also very easy. The city follows the old Spanish system for designing cities. It is divided into four quadrants: Northeast, southeast, northwest and southwest. All the streets are numbered, and avenues run from north to south and streets from east to west. Although there are plenty of public buses, taxis are probably the most reliable source of transportation, and they are conveniently priced. Weather
San Pedro Sula is characterized by its always warm temperatures. There are only two seasons in Honduras, the dry and the rainy season. The dry season, in San Pedro Sula is from December through April. The rainy season or invierno is from May through November.

The Casino Copan is located in the Hotel Copantl and is open daily. Unfortunately, the Honduran law prohibits Hondurans from entering the casino, so you will only find foreigners in this place. Karaoke Club. Considered to be one of the most popular karaoke bars in San Pedro Sula. Open Monday to Sunday from 6:00 p.m. till 1:00 a.m. Full international bar and you can choose from a great selection of delicious entrees. Entrance fee enforced.

The Guamilito market, If you need to find Honduran handicraft, this is the place where you can find what you need. Located within walking distance from the central plaza. At the market, prices are not fixes, so feel free to bargain with the locals as you could get a very good deal.
The Museum of Anthropology and History of San Pedro Sula General entrance fee of Lps. 10.00. Open Monday through Satruday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. (closed on Tuesdays).Children and students with credentials pay Lps5.00. The first Sunday of every month entrance is free for all!
The new children’s museum ( Mi Pequeño Sula ) is not yet fully operational, but they already have the planetarium exhibit up and running.
The Centro Cultural Sampedrano, This is where most cultural events going on in San Pedro Sula take place. Located where the public library is.
The new Francisco Saybe Theater, Great plays shown regularly. This is a world class theater and by far the best in the country.
