Foreign investment has been increasing in Honduras, especially in the last couple of years. The number of foreign real estate purchases is expected to multiply in the coming years. This situation has made Honduras government put more emphasis on the promotion of Tourism, and has implemented laws in order to attract foreign investment. Most foreigners come from US and Canada to places like the Bay Islands of Roatan, Utila, and Guanaja. For industrial and commercial real estate investments most choose to go to San Pedro Sula, which is considered to be the industrial capital of Honduras. Here, large industrial companies receive special benefits (duty free, tax free, etc.)
